Reproductive Freedom and Abortion Rights
I have consistently voiced support for reproductive freedom and criticized Georgia’s current restrictions on abortion access. My efforts have included participating in Democratic-led efforts to hold public hearings on the issue, given the Republican majority's refusal to do so.
I’ve opposed Republican efforts to penalize district attorneys who refuse to prosecute abortion cases, arguing that this is an overreach of state power and undermines local control.
I’m a co-sponsor of House Bill 75, the Reproductive Freedom Act, which would undo Georgia’s abortion ban and expand reproductive health care for all.
I’m a co-sponsor of House Bill 1497 which protects Georgians’ access to IVF procedures.
I am committed to fighting for the right of all Georgians to make their own decisions about their bodies and their healthcare. Georgia’s ban on abortions after six weeks of pregnancy takes away women’s reproductive freedom, harms women’s health, exacerbates economic disparities, and makes Georgia's maternal health crisis even worse.
