Stop Gun Violence
The emotional toll of living in the era of school shootings is devastating to children, parents, and teachers alike
I am dedicated to making Georgia a safer place for all, particularly children, by advocating for common-sense gun safety measures and opposing policies that criminalize poverty and disproportionately impact vulnerable communities.
Public safety should not be a partisan issue, and I am willing to work with anyone who is serious about addressing gun violence and other public safety concerns.
I co-sponsored House Bill 875, which would prohibit people convicted of family violence offenses or subject to family violence temporary protective orders from possessing or purchasing firearms.
I co-sponsored House Bill 135 which establishes offenses for failure to adequately store a firearm, and House Bill 1111 which requires locked storage for firearms in motor vehicles.
After the Midtown Shooting, I devised and executed a strategy where legislators urged the Governor to call a special session to address gun violence. I also organized a corresponding press conference.
